ABOUT US
From ISNA to WASNA
The WA School Nurses Association has a long history. Our origins began in 1990 with a small group of School Nurses working in Independent Schools who recognised the importance of networking and supporting each other to improve their practice. For more than 30 years ISNA (Independent School Nurses Association) provided networking and education opportunities, connecting members, meeting every School Term with a guest speaker and having an Annual Study Day with guest speakers and education sessions.
Today, the WA School Nurses Association inc. (est 2022) has expanded. Membership is open to any Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse working in an Education Setting (Voting) and any First Aid officer employed at a school or anyone interested in working in a school as a School Nurse (non-Voting). We meet and forum on TEAMS, house a library of information, continue to meet every School Term and hold our Annual Professional Development Day in Term 4. We welcome engagement and collaboration with any organisation with School Health as a core interest.
